CERTH/CPERI is classified among the Institutes of Excellence in Greece and contributes to the increased competitiveness of the Greek and European industry by providing unique and innovative solutions to research problems of technological and/or commercial interest. It has a wide background on the study and construction of process systems and integrated systems used for energy production, management and storage and has unique knowledge in system design, engineering and industrial automation. CERTH/CPERI’s expertise and competences include:
- Design of fully automated process and energy harvesting systems;
- Modelling and design optimization of complex systems (power systems, renewable energy systems);
- Energy management of autonomous power systems;
- Design and implement Smart-grid topology to optimize energy resources.
Role in the Project
CERTH/ITI will be the Scientific & Technical Manager (Dr. Dimitrios Tzovaras) of the RINNO project. CERTH/ITI will deliver in detail, the technical description of the overall RINNO Suite and the specifications for each of its key components, modules and their functionalities. It will also implement AR “On-the-Job” training services for the efficient and attractive workers training and support.
Moreover, CERTH/ITI will lead the WP5 activities, aiming at creating a Marketplace capitalizing the RINNO Renovation Repository, delivering also a social collaboration platform for improving the cooperation of the involved stakeholders at all renovation phases. Finally, CERTH/ITI will deliver the Renovation Workflow and Transaction Manager which will include also the Smart Contracts.
CERTH/CPERI will be the Quality Assurance Manager (Dr. Nikolaos Nikolopoulos) of the RINNO project. In terms of technical contributions, CERTH/CPERI will lead the WP3 activities with a view to deliver a number of toolboxes for the evaluation of existing and novel technologies in terms of energy and environmental performance from a multi-point view. Furthermore, CERTH/ CPERI will be responsible for delivering the RINNO Renovation Optimizer and Planner which will support the holistic and optimized decision making process that will lead to the selection of the optimum renovation scenario.
In addition, CERTH/CPERI along with CERTH/ITI will deliver also the Renovation Validation and Benchmarking Tool – Performance Dashboard which will enable the facility manager to monitor home/building operations, decide on optimal control strategies and leverage their results for energy efficiency offerings. Moreover, it will be responsible, along with CERTH/ITI to integrate all RINNO various IT modules into a unified, interoperable and efficient RINNO framework the RINNO Operational Interface with Augmented Intelligence.
